The truth is that he knowingly allowed his office to become the command centre of a network of all sorts of malfeasance and wrongdoing imaginable.
And he did nothing about it. He closed an eye. He closed two eyes. He closed two ears. And defended tooth and nail those who directed the network.
A prime minister who closes an eye to corruption is corrupt. A prime minister who defends the corrupt is corrupt. Which is why he cannot be allowed to remain in office another day. Which is why he needs to be hauled in by the police for questioning.
His inaction cost a woman her life. His inaction has transformed Malta into a den of corruption and crime, a haven and a heaven for criminals and money launderers. His inaction has tarnished, dishonoured and discredited Malta’s reputation all over the world.
